Stirrer drives, magnetic couplings, stirrer shaft sealing
The stirrer shaft sealing is a key component of chemical reactors, it stands for leakage free operation of the rotating stirrer shaft. A stirrer shaft sealing shall be dry – running, avoiding any contamination of the chemistry by a lubricant. The stirrer finally is the important part of equipment in charge of mixing and heat-transfer, so the dimensions and shapes are crucial.
For pressure reactors, stirrer drives with magnetic couplings are used. Due to their static sealing, they can be operated at full vacuum and very high pressures and high temperatures, for mixing of very high viscositiy media.
Buchi magnetic couplings are available in Ex proof version (ATEX).
- Buchi magnetic couplings (bmd type), equipped with stirrer motor, speed transmission and optional frequency converter to adjust the stirrer speed (ATEX version) form a complete stirrer drive for Laboratory- and larger Pilot Plant reactors.
- Magnetic couplings equipped with stirrer motor and electronic speed controller are available as Buchi cyclone stirrer drives for torques up to 300 Ncm and as non Ex version for Laboratory use.
